This week there will be an ABBA-themed dinner show taking to the stage in Wagga Wagga and the start of an inaugural Canberra Region Honey Weekend. But entries in the Mayor’s Writing Competition are closing soon, so get your entries in quick!

The Blues at the Kinema series also returns on Friday. Saturday will see the first heat for the Valley Vibes Music Competition at Cobargo Youth Fest, a mid-year concert from dancers and a film festival.

Finishing the weekend is a meeting of the Snowy Valleys Warhammer Club in Tumut to paint tiny soldiers, while Queanbeyan Showground will again host some markets.

Where: Eurobodalla Shire

Entries are almost closed on the annual Mayor’s Writing Competition. Open to those aged five to 18 in Eurobodalla Shire, entries can be in the form of poems, essays or short stories. But they must be inspired by the theme of ‘change.

Jessica Locarnini of Honey Merchant is Australia’s only working honey sommelier, but she’s sharing the sweet news with the rest of us in this inaugural event. Also including Yass apiarist and owner of Nemori Honey Bees, Cristian Gorton, the three-day event will give regional residents a chance to try honey from local producers. All sessions are two hours long and include a grazing board.

Proceeds will be donated to the Specialist Medical Resources Foundation, a charity that provides non-government funded specialist medical equipment to Wagga Wagga residents. The show goes for two and a half hours, so put your feet up and enjoy the music!
