From annual events you’re familiar with to an inaugural food and wine festival, to art exhibitions, there is plenty planned for the coming week in the region.
The Falling Leaf Festival returns to Tumut, the Stomp Festival celebrates the region’s delicious food and wine, and Yass and Goulburn will see the launch of art exhibitions.
Meanwhile, if you want to treat yourself (or someone special to you), then check out the Yass Show Society Car Boot Sale or the Fashion Revolution Bermagui, while a workshop with Aunty Matilda House will no doubt provide new information and skills.

Cost: Festival tickets cost $29.50, though some events may have an additional cost.
The best of food and wine from Canberra and the surrounding region will be on display at the inaugural Stomp Festival. The two-day festival will feature more than 25 wineries and producers, with everything from wine tastings to winery tours on offer.

The best of autumn will be on display when the Falling Leaf Festival returns. This year’s program includes Aboriginal cultural and Bollywood dancing workshops, a street parade, live music and entertainment and more.

Green to Gold exhibition

Cost: Free entry, though registration is needed for the opening night party.
Tyger Gallery’s new exhibition, Green to Gold, will open on Friday (28 April). It features nine artists, including Yass artist Ruth Dodd, Tiel Seivl-Keevers, Paddington Arts Prize People’s Choice winner Sophie Perez, Clitheroe Emerging Sculptor Prize winner Kate Stehr and Kennedy Prize and Lethbridge Landscape Prize finalist Sarah McDonald.

For the fifth time, the sustainable fashion of the South Coast will be on display when Fashion Revolution Bermagui returns. Learn about (and get inspiration from) fashion designers, repairers and more.

Possum skin cloak-blanket stories: darning & yarning with Aunty Matilda House workshop

Cost: $5 to $30, bookings essential.
Though slots for the full workshop have all sold out, there are some for the tours to see different parts of the process. They also include a tour of the heritage listed gallery, time to join in with the yarning by Aunty Matilda and a chance to paint a piece of possum skin.
