Winter might be approaching, but that doesn’t mean the events calendar for the region is slowing down.
We have it all, from a cycling-based fundraiser for mental health with some big-name guests to events with art, theatre, photography, singing and sculpture, to a playground the kids will be sure to love.

Cherry Ride for Resilience
When: 21 to 22 April

Cost: $100 to $155, depending on event.
A group of cyclists will carry out a 137-kilometre journey to raise money in support of mental health in regional Australia on Saturday. One of Active Farmers’ annual fundraisers, the ride’s route goes from Young to Boorowa, Harden and back to Young. While registrations for the ride have closed, there’s an event on Friday with Wallabies coach Eddie Jones and an Active Farmers Charity Dinner on Saturday evening – get your tickets here.

Hir at Lieder Theatre Company
When: 12 April to 22 April
Where: Lieder Theatre, 52 Goldsmith Street
Cost: Tickets cost between $15 and $30; available online.
The curtain on the first show of Lieder Theatre Company’s 2023 season will fall on Sunday. The cast of Hir will give their final performance.

The Bird Series exhibition

This exhibition of pencil on panel and oil on canvas works will come to a close on Wednesday 26 April. The artwork is by local artist Vee and we’re sure you’ll enjoy the work!

Sculpture, Food and Wine Long Weekend

To mark the unveiling of five new sculptures on the Snowy Valleys Sculpture Trail, Sculpture by the Sea have put together a four-day schedule of events. In addition to the unveiling of the sculptures, there will be a preview of an upcoming art exhibition, a wine tasting, an artist talk, a tour of a historic guest house and more.

The Outsiders photography exhibition
When: From Friday 21 April
Where: 63 Monaro Street, Queanbeyan
Cost: Free entry.
The second exhibition in Queanbeyan’s No Name Lane will open to the public on Friday 21 April. Set to run for several months, it showcases the work of Braidwood artist Frank Lindner. The public is invited to come down to the laneway, see the artwork and maybe browse some CBD businesses.

Candelo Village Festival

This one-day festival is set to showcase the best of the Far South Coast village of Candelo. A variety of DIY activities, entertainment, food and drink options and live musicians will have everyone enjoying the day.

Songs Against Silence concert

Mossy on Gardens in the Eurobodalla Botanic Gardens will be the site of a concert for a good cause. Sydney musician Sara Ang will be performing to raise money for the Eurobodalla Domestic Violence Committee (EDVC).

Tony Onions Memorial Park Playground opening

Where: Tony Onions Memorial Park Playground, 72 George Street, Marulan

The newest playground in Marulan will be the site of a plaque unveiling and speeches for its official opening. It was jointly funded by the NSW Government and Goulburn Mulwaree Council.
