School returning is still a couple of weeks away, but fortunately there’s plenty to keep the kids entertained in the region this week.
Bells Family Carnival has graced Batehaven, on the NSW South Coast, for decades and is again gracing the region with its rides and fairy floss.
Also, a crash course in Thredbo will train up children in the ways of mountain biking; NSW Police is hosting a sausage sizzle at Goulburn Adventure Playground; and kids can live out their inner superhero fantasies at Goulburn Library.
There’s plenty for adults, too, with art, music, and a weekend of fishing at Tollgate Island.
Markets are also recommencing after a brief break during Christmas and New Year, with two notable returns to the Riverina region.

Bells Family Carnival at Batehaven

These summer holidays, the Bells Family Carnival comes to the seaside at Corrigans Beach. Treat your family to dagwood dogs and fairy floss, and lots of fun rides for all ages, including a giant slide. It is open daily (weather permitting). MTB School Holiday Camps

MTB School Holiday Camps are a great way for kids aged seven to 14 years to develop their gravity skills in a fun, safe and controlled mountain bike environment. The schedule includes MTB fundamentals, gravity specific riding techniques, pump track skills and timed race sessions.

Hilltops Cherry Time Exhibition – ‘Fine Art and 3D’

The Young Society of Artists present Hilltops Cherry Time Exhibition ‘Fine Art and 3D’ at Burrangong Gallery until 29 January 2022.
The exhibition is open seven days a week and there is no entry fee. Organisers invite everyone to call in and enjoy the variety of works on show.

Enjoy an evening of classical music at Narooma Library by Eurobodalla Clarinet Ensemble. The local trio has been playing together for five years and will perform works by Beethoven and Mozart.

Young and Region Farmers Markets

Cost: Free.
Young and Region Farmers Market is held on the first, third and fifth Saturday of every month at Anderson Park in Young. There’s something for everyone, including plants, fresh fruit and produce, and hand-made goods.
The Young Lions Club and other local organisations also operate a barbecue at the market offering tea, coffee, sausage sandwiches, and bacon and egg rolls.

The Goulburn Mulwaree Library is putting on a fun session that will help transform every child attendee into an awesome superhero. Participants will enjoy designing and decorating their own superhero mask, shield and wrist cuff. Children will also enjoy listening to some action-packed superhero adventure stories. Morning tea will be provided.
