NSW Police are investigating the theft of almost 150 sheep from a rural property in the Snowy Monaro.
The Rural Crime Prevention Team said 95 merino ewes and 50 first cross lambs were stolen from a property on Middlingbank Road in Berridale, which is west of Cooma, between April and August 2021.
The team said the ewes were of a mixed age with full coat of wool – they were due to be shorn in August – and are due to give birth in October.
All of the sheep are earmarked with two notches on the back of an ear and at the time had tags with a mix of the following numbers: NF150974 and NC151867 for the ewes or ND152319 for the lambs.
“Police have information the sheep may have been loaded into a truck in the vicinity of the intersection of Slacks Creek Road and Middlingbank Road,” the Rural Crime Prevention Team said.
Anyone who regularly travels along Middlingbank Road and saw anything unusual recently can contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
