Eurobodalla Shire Council customer service facilities will reopen from Monday, 1 June as COVID-19 restrictions ease in NSW.
However, council’s general manager, Dr Catherine Dale, has encouraged customers to still do business with the council over the phone or online.
“That way our customer service staff can determine if we can help you over the phone or online, saving you a visit,” said Dr Dale. “If you’re coming to see a particular staff member, please phone them first as they may be working from home and not available in the building.”
New preventative measures will be in place in all customer contact areas, with visitors to sanitise hands on arrival, not touch the counters and stand behind lines marked on the floor. Payments by card are preferred, rather than cash, and clear screens will shortly be installed on the counters as a further safety measure.
Only one duty officer will be available between 10 am and 3 pm each weekday for development enquiries at the front counter. Development assessment planners, surveyors and engineers will not be available for in-person counter enquiries.
Surf Beach and Brou tips resume their normal operating hours to allow for bushfire clean-up. The Moruya waste transfer station will also be open five days a week, but the buy-back shop at Surf Beach tip will not be open.
Three libraries will reopen on Monday, 9 June, with reduced hours and no more than 10 patrons inside at any given time and for a maximum of 30 minutes each. Library click-and-collect services continue to be available, along with online resources such as audiobooks.
Parks and sporting fields are now open for non-contact training and up to 10 people in a gathering, along with skate parks, picnic shelters and fish cleaning tables. Council tennis courts are available for casual hire, coaching and competitions, with players following Tennis Australia’s COVID-19 guidelines.
Narooma indoor swimming pool is closed to the public with an exception for squad swimming only. Batemans Bay and Moruya outdoor pools are closed for winter.
Eurobodalla Shire Council depots at Narooma, Moruya and Batemans Bay will remain closed, along with Batemans Bay Visitor Information Centre, community centres, halls and recreation centres, and the youth cafes at Narooma and Moruya.
The Basil Sellers Exhibition Centre in Moruya is still closed but will reopen in July.
Batemans Bay Beach Resort and the council campgrounds at Mystery Bay and Dalmeny will reopen from 1 June.
