It’s been reported the victims of Monday (4 April) night’s horrific helicopter crash at Kiandra Flats were prominent businessman Peter Woodland and his 64-year-old wife.
The pair was killed when their Bel 206 helicopter came down in isolated bushland near the Snowy Mountains Highway around 10 pm.
Mr Woodland founded Barbeques Galore with his partners in 1977 and was the managing director at sheet-metal manufacturer Interfab.
It’s been reported flight tracker data shows his helicopter left his home in Terrey Hills, Sydney, on Saturday 2 April, stopping in Goulburn before reaching the helipad in Canberra.
On Sunday 3 April, data shows it left Canberra and was tracked to the Kosciuszko National Park area.
Investigations are ongoing.
