The NSW Far South Coast has seen its second fatal crash within days, after two died in a head-on collision on the weekend.
NSW Police said a Toyota Corolla and a Toyota Tarago collided on the Princes Highway in the locality of Kiah, which is about 15 km south of Eden, on Saturday afternoon (17 May).
The 68-year-old male driver of the Corolla and his 68-year-old female passenger died at the scene.
Paramedics treated the driver of the Tarago, a 71-year-old woman, before she was flown to Canberra Hospital in a critical condition.
Her passenger, an 81-year-old man, was taken to the South East Regional Hospital in Bega with suspected internal injuries.
“A crime scene was established as an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident commenced,” a police spokesperson said.
“A report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.”
It had been the second fatal crash in the Eden region within days.
On 13 May, a dual-cab ute and truck collided on Towamba Road, about 10 km south west of the town.
A six-year-old boy, who had been travelling in the ute, died at the scene.
The ute’s driver, a man in his 30s, and his two child passengers suffered multiple injuries.
