Across the regions this week there is more than enough to keep you and your family busy, with town shows, live music, a seniors festival, races and much more.

Bega’s Show is on, bringing an animal nursery, pet show, sideshow rides, dodgem cars, fireworks, dog jumping events, plenty of great food, live music and more.

Yass’s Picnic Races are back, returning better than ever with six horse races and fashions on the field.

150th Far South Coast National Show- Bega

Bega celebrates 150 years of its town show, with three full days of non-stop fun and entertainment.

Visitors can expect a street theatre, pavilions with art, handicrafts and floral displays, cow, sheep and poultry competitions, an animal nursery, pet show, sideshow rides, dodgem cars, as well as specialty food tasting and judging.

There will also be international cuisine at the food carts, slow-cooked barbecue, fireworks on Friday, horse jumping, dog jumping and plenty of live music.

The NSW Seniors Festival provides plenty of events and activities for older folks, bringing them together from across the state each year.

Coming to multiple areas, the Goulburn seniors festival is set to be an occasion to remember, with plenty of exciting meals and shows, live music, expos, art workshops, talks from extraordinary people, swimming skills sessions and more.

Alex Clark Live at the Steampacket Hotel

Cost: Free.

Alex Clark is a solo acoustic artist and a rising star in the area with an original and eclectic style of performance. Inspired by folk, country, punk and rock, she adapts to each performance, be it in a bar or pub, or at a wedding or winery. She has played alongside acts such as Mental As Anything, Jack Biilmann, The Rolling Stones Show, Gywen Ashton and The Beatles Show. Don’t miss out on this Friday’s live music performance at the Steampacket Hotel.

Grape Meets Foot - Harvest & Stomp Festival

Grape Meets Foot – Harvest & Stomp Festival

When: 27 February, 5:30 to 9 pm
Where: Grove Estate Wines, 4100 Murringo Road, Young
Cost: Tickets are $45 | Book online.

Allowing members of the public to take part in the wine-making process, this event gives wine lovers the chance to harvest their own grapes, stomp them and create their own wine. The winery will notify participants when their wine is mature, which they can then collect.

At 7:30 pm on the day of harvesting, celebrate with a wine and complimentary wood-fired pizza as well as antipasto plates.

Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club National Rally Show and Shine

When: 28 February, noon to 3 pm
Where: The Station, 8228 The Snowy River Way, Jindabyne
Cost: Free.

The VJMC is a not-for-profit community association with the goal of preserving, restoring and appreciating Japanese motorcycles more than 15 years old. They’ve amassed an astonishing collection of beautiful bikes ranging across the decades.

This week’s show and shine is an opportunity for members of the public to check out the biggest gathering of such vehicles in one spot. Motor enthusiasts and laymen will find something to love here.

125th Yass Picnic Races

The Yass Picnic Races is a six-race meet bringing together a whole lot of excitement for the community.

There will be a buzzing atmosphere, as well as ladies’, men’s and junior fashions on the field, free kids’ entertainment and free transport from the main street.

Visitors are welcome to bring a picnic, an esky and a sunshade for some good old-fashioned country racing.

Koorawatha Annual Show

When: 1 March, 8 am to 2 pm
Where: Bumbaldry Street, Koorawatha

The small town of Koorawatha holds its annual show this week, with a little bit of everything for people to get excited about. This year’s show will feature basketball, mechanical bulls, pavilions with flowers, arts and crafts, trick riding displays, car show and shines, horse events, sheep and cattle judging, a full bar and of course plenty of food stalls.

Spanish band El Pony Pisador mixes traditional music from around the globe to create a truly unique sound, which is coming to the Tumut River Brewing Company.

Performing in a lively and unpredictable style, alternating between humour and music, El Pony Pisador has a unique and memorable stage presence.

Their diverse musical tastes range from traditional Celtic music to sea songs, shanties and folk music from around the world.
