A 20-year-old man has been arrested following a lockdown at Mulwaree High School in Goulburn on Thursday (18 February) morning.
The school was secured as a precaution at 10:00 am after the man threatened a student via social media.
Some school parents said they received text messages from their children saying they had been locked in a storeroom while other parents weren’t aware of the lockdown until a post was shared on Facebook.
The 20-year-old man, who is known to police, was arrested at a Goulburn address about an hour after the threat was reported.
The lockdown was lifted about an hour after the man was arrested.
The man has assisted police with their inquiries and was released on Thursday.
No charges have been laid and police say there is no further information to suggest any threat was actually going to be carried out towards a student at the school.
