NSW Police have arrested a 47-year-old man after he allegedly assaulted a 48-year-old woman at Cooma on Friday.
The man allegedly went to the woman’s home in Cooma at around 10:00 pm on Friday night (26 June) and demanded money from the woman. When she refused, he allegedly forced entry into the house and assaulted her before stealing cash and fleeing.
The woman was treated by paramedics for a fracture to her hand and facial injuries. She was taken to Cooma Hospital in a stable condition.
After police inquiries, a man was arrested at a nearby service station.
The man allegedly resisted officers and attempted to assault one of them. A small amount of cannabis was found in his possession and was seized.
He was taken to Cooma Police Station and charged with aggravated break and enter, committing a serious indictable offence – inflicting actual bodily harm, resisting an officer in execution of their duty, assaulting a police officer in execution of their duty without actual bodily harm, and possessing a prohibited drug.
