Five people from the Batemans Bay region have been slapped with a total of $6000 in fines after breaching lockdown restrictions and leaving their homes without face masks.
A NSW Police spokesperson said officers stopped a Holden SS Commodore on Broulee Road, Broulee, about 2:00 pm on 17 August as part of COVID-19 compliance checks.
It was revealed that not all five were from the same household and none had a valid reason for not wearing a mask.
The police spokesperson said as the 19-year-old driver had a P1 provisional licence he had to abide by conditions on prohibited vehicles and was limited to one passenger in his car.

Police allege none of the five people in the car were wearing a face-covering and the driver was not displaying P-plates. Several vehicle defects were also detected.
The spokesperson said the driver had a roadside breath test, which returned a negative result, but also had a roadside drug test and its results had to undergo further examination.
The teen was arrested and taken to Batemans Bay Police Station, where he was banned from driving for 24 hours.
The driver was later released from custody and issued with five traffic infringement notices and two infringements for breaching the Public Health Order.
His passengers – two men aged 20 and 22 as well as two women aged 18 and 19 – were each issued with $1000 fines for failing to comply with a COVID-19 related direction and $200 fines for not wearing fitted face coverings in indoor areas.
