Hot on the heels of the Bega Library makeover comes a fresh new look and feel for Eden Library.
Eden’s house of knowledge and imagination will close for renovations from Saturday (August 3) and will reopen a week later on Saturday, August 10.
Thanks to NSW State Library funding, new mobile shelving and a new children’s reading nook will be installed during the closure.
Acting Library Coordinator, Samantha Fenton, says the mobile shelving will give staff lots of flexibility with layout options around library events.
“People can still return items through the after-hours returns box, which is located to the left of the Eden Library entrance and we won’t be sending out any overdue notices during the closure period,” she says.
“We will be providing printing and copying services at the Eden Access Centre, where WiFi will also be available.”
Staff will also take the opportunity to rearrange shelving to improve study areas and seating, update signage and arrange for carpet cleaning.
Services at other libraries in Bega, Tura Beach and Bermagui are unaffected by the closure.
The Eden upgrade comes after Bega Library closed during the July school holidays to repair damage done during flooding earlier in the year.
