A man has died and another has been injured in a crash in the Snowy Valleys region.
A NSW Police spokesperson said that at about 11 am on Friday (15 November), emergency services were called to the Snowy Mountains Highway, following reports of a single-vehicle crash.
The incident reportedly occurred at Talbingo, about 55 kilometres south of Tumut.
At the scene, officers attached to the Riverina Police District found the car, which had been travelling in the northbound direction, had left the roadway and flipped onto its roof, the spokesperson said.
The male driver died at the scene.
The police spokesperson said that while the driver was yet to be formally identified, the man was believed to be in his 40s.
NSW Ambulance attended the scene and treated the male passenger – believed to be in his 30s – for abdomen and arm injuries.
He was airlifted to Canberra Hospital in a stable condition, the police spokesperson said.
A crime scene has been established and an investigation opened into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
