About Karen Lateo

Karen Lateo has traded aircraft noise for pounding surf, returning to the South Coast after decades in big-city journalism, marketing, publicity and more. Wollongong-born, she began her career at the Illawarra Mercury, moving to the Daily Mirror, TV Week, the Sunday Telegraph, The Bulletin, Good Weekend, Good Morning Australia and London’s Today. A former associate editor of Woman’s Day in its royal family-chasing heyday, she eventually pursued her foodie fantasies into the world of cookbook publishing. Most recently, she ran Entree, a celebrity chef management agency. Karen can be found searching the streets of the Illawarra for food, culture and art fixes.
