Residents of the Eurobodalla’s northern villages affected by the Currowan Fire can put all three bins out for their regular kerbside collection tomorrow – Friday, December 13.
To help with the post-fire clean up, Council’s contractor SUEZ will collect red, yellow and green lid bins at South Durras, Long Beach and Maloneys Beach.
A spokesperson for Eurobodalla Shire Council says an additional truck will collect any overflow from the red lid domestic waste and yellow lid recycling bins.
“We know residents will have extra waste on their hands, especially those who evacuated and missed last week’s pick up.
“We’d love to see neighbours sharing bins so as much material as possible fits into a closed bin, but SUEZ workers will pick up extra bags of domestic waste. Please help them out by making sure bags are robust and well tied up, and placed beside the red bin on the kerb.
“Any recycling that doesn’t fit in the yellow lid bin can be placed beside the yellow bin, also secured in bags, and left on the kerb.”
The green waste (green lid) bins will be also be picked up this Friday. The normal schedule resumes after that, with the next green waste collection for South Durras on Friday, December 20 and Long Beach and Maloneys Beach on Friday, December 27. Recycling bins are collected in the alternate week.
