The regions are buzzing this week with a whole lot to see and do, whether you’re after live music, new exhibitions, author talks, film screenings, town festivals or concerts.
The Giiyong Festival is bringing more than 200 Indigenous performers, presenters and producers to the Jigamy Campground for a day-long celebration of music, dance, culture and connection in one of the largest gatherings of Aboriginal artists in NSW.
There’s plenty of live music, with tribute acts to 80s rock icons, local artists playing Aussie rock, and youth concerts showing off orchestral talent.

Colour Rhythms Exhibition at the Goulburn Regional Art Gallery
When: 21 to 27 November, during normal gallery hours, opening night 21 November, 5 pm

Local artist John R Walker records, draws and explores local scenes of the countryside, meditating on landscapes as spaces that hold memory and mark the passage of time.
His works are inspired by disciplines such as cartography, geological history, environmental history, mathematics and poetry to recreate the look and feel of Australian landscapes.
From 5 pm, Walker will hold an author talk and delve into the influences that went into forming his creative style.

2025 Airing of the Quilts

Braidwood’s Airing of the Quilts Festival is here, with heaps of fun events to get excited about.
Across three days, Braidwood will host a broad variety of events such as the airing itself, where textile artisans and quilters hang their creative pieces around town, in addition to exhibitions, challenges, vintage car restoration launches, book launches, open days and more.
There are also prizes for best hand quilted quilt, best use of colour, best in show, best outdoor hanging and more.

Giiyong Festival

Giiyong Festival is coming to Jigamy Campground with a full day of music, art, dance, stories and cultural connection.
Presented by Twofold Aboriginal Corporation, this all-ages welcome event celebrates the richness and diversity of local Indigenous culture. This year’s festival includes performances from 3%, Coloured Stone, Docker River Band and local artists such as Prodikal-1, Kunda and Boondi. There will also be nine groups performing a variety of cultural dances.
The day’s celebrations will feature 200 performers, producers and presenters, in one of the largest gatherings of Indigenous artists in Southern NSW. There will also be more than 60 vendors and food trucks, as well as local art, craft, fashion, cuisine, painting and activities for kids.

Coastal Fringe at the Steampacket Hotel

Head to the Steampacket Hotel for live music, cold drinks and great vibes in the hotel’s beer garden.
Coastal Fringe performs primarily Aussie rock and this Saturday they’re going to rock the house down with plenty of classic Aussie tunes from bands such as AC/DC, INXS, Icehouse, Angels and Divinyls.

The UK Rod Stewart Show

Head to the Queanbeyan Performing Arts Centre for the UK Rod Stewart Show, a faithful tribute to one of the best musical acts in memory.
This tribute show recreates the magic of Rod Stewart, down to the vocal character, the stage presence and the aesthetics. Covering six decades of Stewart’s music, this performance gives the audience a full experience of the artist’s broad musical repertoire.

Spring Youth Music Festival 2025

Four Winds invites audiences to experience local youth talent at the Spring Youth Music Festival, demonstrating the power of storytelling through sound as young artists play their hearts out.
This concert is a great chance to support young musicians on the South Coast, with performers including the Luminescence Chamber Singers, the Bega Valley Youth Orchestra, the Four Winds Community Orchestra, the Bega Valley Male Voice Choir, a cast of emerging soloists and more.

Goulburn Christmas NightMarkets

Cost: Entry is $2 and an unlimited ride wristband is $30.
The Goulburn Aussie NightMarkets are back this week, running from 4 to 10 pm at the Goulburn Recreation Area.
Entry is just $2, giving attendees full access to food trucks, food stalls, a dessert-only section, live entertainment, retail vendors, Christmas Carols, rides and games. A $30 wristband gives you unlimited access to rides on the day.
