The much talked about breakdancer of the 2024 Paris Olympics, Raygun, will be bringing her iconic moves to the Riverina town of Harden tonight (28 February) to raise money for a local childcare centre destroyed by wild storms earlier this year.
The former Olympian will be teaching kids how to break at the Harden Country Club from 5 pm, with a disco to follow later in the evening.
The event hopes to raise funds for the Harden Day Care and Preschool, which will be closed for six to 12 months following heavy hail damage.
Rachael ‘Raygun’ Gunn became a cultural icon during the dying days of last year’s Olympics, going viral after her moves resonated with fans across the world.
The current number one ranked breaker, as judged by the World DanceSport Federation, was parodied on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and by Saturday Night Live cast members, and even NFL running backs, cementing her status in pop culture.
Despite finishing equal last at the Olympics for breaking in August, Raygun brought thousands of Australians to the sport and is aiming to bring even more from the Riverina to it when she visits Harden this weekend.
To meet and learn moves from the iconic breaker, head to the Harden Country Club from 5 pm today (28 February). Tickets for the event are available through Humantix.
