Art & Calligraphy Exhibition

Explore a remarkable mixture of contemporary and traditional styles at the Art & Calligraphy exhibition at the Young Gallery. Curated by founder Young Till, the gallery shows off a diverse range of art through multiple mediums inspired by Till’s own cultural background. This exhibit demonstrates a broad range of artistic styles and skills including ink and paintwork in the field of Korean calligraphy by Hyosoon Shin, a renowned artist with 40 years of experience. As well as paint pour resin jewellery, fine woodworking and gestural painting, it’s a great display of both local and international art.
Ballinaclash Guided Wine Tasting

Get your taste buds ready for this exploration of wine, what makes it, what influences it and where it gets its taste from. This particular tasting focuses on the impact that land has on the flavour profile and characteristics of your favourite vintages. Learn about the winemaking process from the event’s host, giving you expert insight into how the farm picks its grapes and begins the process from vineyard to bottle. There’s an optional cheese board available, with cheeses chosen to pair perfectly with the wines on the day. Come along with some friends for some fascinating insights into how everyone’s favourite drink is made.

Goulburn’s Iconic Architecture Exhibition by Joe Zappia

Sometimes it’s good to see familiar sights through fresh eyes and Joe Zappia’s art exhibition does just that. If you’re a local or a long-time Goulburn resident come see some of Goulburn’s best-known buildings in a completely different way. Rocky Hill, Saint Saviour’s and the town Cathedral have all been rendered in Zappia’s unique artistic style. Celebrate local art and the historic architecture and scenery of Goulburn.

Queanbeyan Community Christmas Party and Carols

Where: Glebe Avenue, Queanbeyan

Queanbeyan Park hosts this year’s annual Christmas party. There’s heaps of entertainment, food, drinks and activities to get you ready for the holiday season. Sing along with local talent on stage, enjoy some great food and drinks on-site, and unwind with your community. For those in Bungendore and Braidwood, there will be similar events for you coming soon!
Ginger All The Way – Gingerbread House Making
When: 14 December 2 to 4 pm
Where: Bungendore Scout Hall, Bungendore

Hosted by the Bungendore Anglican Church in the Scout Hall, Ginger All The Way is the best way to up your gingerbread house game. Bring along friends and family for an afternoon of creativity and just a little bit of sugary indulgence. Put together a classic 4×4 gingerbread house or really let your imagination run wild and build something out of the ordinary. It’s a great afternoon of Christmas fun and the best part is you go home with your candied creation.
Selling out every year, it’s an annual event that has become a must-attend event for all ages in the Bungendore area. The ticket comes with a gingerbread making kit as well as afternoon tea; there is also a gluten-free option.
Groove is in the Heart

STEPZ Dance Academy’s 25th annual concert is here again! Groove is in the Heart is a celebration of cheerleading, musical theatre and dance. The talented people at the Stepz Academy will give it their all and show off their skills on Saturday. Prepare to be wowed by a range of styles, with lots of flair and personality. The special this year is a choreographed scene from the Nutcracker, promising the best of Batemans Bay’s classical ballet talent, but it’s just one of the styles on display – get ready for a panoply of performers, excelling in the disciplines of jazz, tap, acrobatics, hip hop and contemporary.

Cooma Rotary Markets

Where: Centennial Park, Sharp Street, Cooma
Cost: Free entry, cash preferred by vendors.
Cooma’s Rotary Markets are run by volunteers, and all proceeds from the markets and food vans go to community projects, so you can shop and eat knowing you’re supporting your local community as well as having a great day out. There’s a food van, coffee and a barbecue – in addition to plants, crafts, activities for kids and all sorts of trinkets and odds and ends. It’s a great opportunity before the Christmas period to get something really special and unique for someone in your life or just come along for a day of good food and local coffee for a good cause.
The Greatest Show

Element Cheer and Dance is excited to put on its end-of-year recital. Inspired by the strange and enticing world of the circus, performers will wow the audience with a range of dancing styles from all ages. From toddlers to adults, get ready for the styles of hip-hop, lyrical, musical theatre, jazz, cheerleading and ballet. Full of charm and skill, this show promises to captivate the audience with bright, high-energy movement, bringing the end of the year to a close with the bang it deserves. Come cheer on the best dancers in the local area.

Marulan Christmas Carols

Where: Tony Onions Park, 72 George Street, Marulan
Cost: Free.
The Marulan Lion’s Club is hosting this year’s Marulan Christmas Carols. There’ll be a sausage sizzle, and Santa will make an appearance, so bring family and friends as well as the kids for a night of Christmas celebrations.
