Come one, come all, as the 2023 Eurobodalla Agricultural Show will have free entry for its opening day!
The show is back on next year and will take place at the Moruya Showground on Saturday to Sunday, 21-22 January.
Entry will be free on the Saturday thanks to bushfire recovery funding from the National Emergency Management Agency and the NSW Government.
“This is great news for our community and should encourage people to get out and enjoy our wonderful annual show, which has always been a crowd favourite and now back up and running after a few difficult years,” Eurobodalla Shire Council’s community recovery officer Linda Wilton said.
The show’s many attractions include livestock judging, sideshow alley, a motorcycle gymkhana and a dog high jump.
A Community Preparedness Expo will also run in conjunction with the show and will be held from 9 am to 4 pm outside the basketball stadium.
“This is an opportunity for the community to get up to date with personal and community preparedness around emergencies and natural disasters,” Ms Wilton said.
“We’ll have a range of services and providers on site with information, demonstrations and activities.
“For example, the new Fire Danger Rating system, bushfire survival plans, flood awareness and how to get involved in community-led resilience.”
There will also be fun activities for kids and kids at heart, such as drama games, community art installations, smokehouse demonstrations and virtual reality headsets.
The free entry is just for the show’s hours of 9 am to 8 pm on the Saturday. Normal gate fees will apply on the Sunday.
