It was a horror day on the region’s roads on Friday (2 December), with two people dying in unrelated accidents.
The first crash happened at about 6 pm, leaving a woman dead and her passenger injured.
The accident took place when a grey Suzuki and a silver Hilux ute collided on Middle Arm Road.
Officers from The Hume Police District attended and found a 70-year-old woman driving the Suzuki had suffered critical injuries. She was airlifted to The Canberra Hospital where she later died.
Her passenger, a 38-year-old man, was taken to the same hospital with minor injuries.
Two men in the ute, aged 44 and 30, were not injured.
The older man, who was driving the ute, was taken to Goulburn Hospital for mandatory testing. Inquiries are continuing and a report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.
Just two hours later, a motorcyclist died when his bike left the Princes Highway and crashed in the Eurobodalla.
Witnesses have told police the man was riding southbound when the crash happened shortly after 8 pm (Friday 2 December 2022), at Bergalia, about 5 km south of Moruya.
They stopped and rendered assistance, performing CPR until NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived, however the 54-year-old man later died at Moruya Hospital.
A report will be prepared for the information of the coroner by officers attached to South Coast Police District.
