There’s lots to do in the region this weekend, especially if you love comedy nights, art classes, live music, watching movies or busting a move on the dance floor.

On Friday, the Bungendore Girl Guides are having a screening of Zootopia at their Scout’s Hall, a modern flamenco ensemble will spice up the dance floor with some Spanish heat at the Q Theatre and the Royal Hotel in Queanbeyan is having an 80s-themed party.

To kick off the weekend on Saturday, there’s a spiritual, health and wellbeing expo in Wagga, Bell Shakespeare’s The Comedy of Errors in Wagga Wagga, a “Clay n Sip” class in Goulburn, a Neil Diamond and Barbra Streisand tribute concert in Goulburn and an “Ecstatic Dance” workshop at the Soul Tribe Studio down the coast.

Ending the weekend, there’s the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow in Goulburn and the duo known for their use of percussion, loop pedals, harmonies and guitar is performing at the Tilba Valley Winery and Ale House.

Shipwrecked and separated 33 years earlier, two sets of long-lost twins miraculously find themselves in the same city on the same day. What could possibly go wrong? The Comedy of Errors takes you on a journey of swapped identities, misguided love, mistaken imprisonment and chaotic mishaps, leading to an unbelievably crazy day for bumbling twins. At the heart of this tale of comedic misfortune is an old man searching for his lost children. He finds himself in a hostile land, in the fight of his life. As coincidences unfold, chaotic hilarity ensues and a man’s life could be saved — if only everything would go to plan. Directed by Bell Shakespeare collaborator Janine Watson, The Comedy of Errors is a beautiful story about reunion, wrapped up in an evening of entertainment and laughter.

Where: Soul Tribe Studio, 57 Beach Road, Catalina

Ever wondered what “ecstatic dance” is? Simply put, it’s all about moving your body in a way that feels good. With no steps to learn and no “alignment cues”, you are totally free to express yourself through movement. When you first arrive, the first 15 minutes will be all about explaining the rules: the main rule is no talking, no eye contact and no communication with fellow dancers. The room is kept dark so you can’t really see anyone else, and people are encouraged to keep their eyes closed as much as possible. Although it may feel strange at first, you will get the opportunity to truly connect with your natural expression of movement.
