Four men in their 20s have been charged over the alleged supply of prohibited drugs in the Riverina after police raided several properties in Wagga Wagga overnight.
Strike Force Crestreef was launched by Riverina Police in July last year to target the alleged supply of cocaine and MDMA through pubs in the Wagga CBD.
On Wednesday night (13 April 2022), police executed search warrants on two homes, one in Kooringal and another in Ashmont.
A 23-year-old man was arrested at a home on Horsley Street, where police seized $16,500 in cash, an extendable baton and cannabis.
The man was charged with four counts of supply prohibited drug, one count of supply prohibited drug on an ongoing basis, deal with proceeds of crime, possess prohibited weapon, and possess prohibited drug.
He was granted conditional bail to appear in Wagga Wagga Local Court on 29 June.
A second 23-year-old man was arrested at a home on Mumford Street, where police allegedly discovered cocaine, cannabis and an amount of cash. He was charged with six counts of supplying a prohibited drug, one count of supply prohibited drug on an ongoing basis, and two counts of possessing prohibited drug.
Police will allege that he had been dealing prohibited drugs while working at a licensed premises on Baylis Street. He was refused bail and fronted court the following day (14 April 2022)
Another two men, aged 29 and 22, were subsequently arrested and charged over their alleged roles in the supply of prohibited drugs.
Both were granted conditional bail to appear in Wagga Wagga Local Court on Wednesday, 29 June 2022.
