Valentine’s Day is fast approaching, and if you haven’t thought of a romantic surprise yet, the NSW South Coast has a plethora of food, wine, tours, experiences and activities, and the region’s hospitality venues and businesses, which suffered through a year of fires, floods and plague, are ready to make your day extra romantic.
Why not start your day with a bottle of champagne while watching the sunrise and grabbing some Insta-worthy snaps from one of the Sapphire Coast’s beautiful beaches, or from the Cape St George Lighthouse in the Booderee National Park, which not only provides spectacular views but history as well.
Mill Beach, in Durras, has a vast vista that paints the sky in a rainbow of colours as the sun rises. Malua Bay provides the perfect frame for photographs, with both surf and headlands to accentuate the dawn spectacular.
If heading to the beach before dawn isn’t a romantic prospect for you, how about brunch at one of the NSW South Coast’s excellent eateries, or try cooking brunch with your Valentine at Eastwood’s Deli & Cooking School’s ‘Cooking Brunch With Your Valentine’ event. Book yourself in for a seven-course degustation at Mimosa Wines, or head to Fat Tony’s in Tathra for a great evening.
Another option is the Noble Transfers and Tours’ Bottle Wine Tour, which includes tasting at three Berry wineries and lunch with a glass of wine. Or plan a romantic picnic for two catered by A Pinch of Yum – simply choose your location anywhere on the picturesque Sapphire Coast, gather your loved one, and indulge in a luxurious picnic which they will deliver to you.

If you’re in Bermagui, check out Harbar, which has cocktails and grazing platters all afternoon, or enjoy some kayaking with Region X, which runs guided kayak tours and kayak hire throughout Batemans Marine Park, encompassing Batemans Bay, Mossy Point, Broulee, Moruya and Eden.
Take a 90-minute walk with Conjola Tours and learn about Conjola’s unique natural environment and history. You’ll find plenty of photo opportunities here, too.
If you’ve always wanted to learn to surf, head to Broulee Surf School and choose a private lesson, group lesson or kids’ surf lesson. Or take a hike through one of the 10 NSW South Coast national parks with Nature Engagement Tours, which will provide scones in the forest, and lunch – choose from a four-hour walk, a six-hour walk or an overnight camping trip.
If you’re more inclined to spend the day at home, there are plenty of beautiful gift ideas and home deliveries to make your Valentine’s Day one to remember.
