Two teenage boys have been arrested after allegedly starting a fire at a home where a 64-year-old woman and a 31-year-old man were sleeping on Sunday (21 February) morning.

The pair allegedly poured fuel around the house on Chisholm Street, Goulburn before setting it alight and throwing a table through a window.

Police and Fire & Rescue NSW were called to the house at around 5:45 am on Sunday following reports of a fire.

Police established a crime scene and began an investigation into the fire.

At around 9:30 am, following inquiries, officers arrested two boys – aged 13 and 14 – and took them to Goulburn Police Station.

The teens were interviewed and will be dealt with under the Young Offenders Act.
