A woman has been airlifted to a Sydney hospital following a two-car crash on the Princes Highway at Twelve Mile Peg, north of Conjola.
Emergency services responded to reports a northbound Ford Puma SUV and a southbound Toyota Camry sedan had collided head-on in the southbound lanes at about 12:35 pm on Wednesday (13 July).
The 70-year-old driver of the sedan was helped by members of the public and off-duty nurses at the scene prior to the arrival of NSW Ambulance paramedics.
The woman was later airlifted to Liverpool Hospital. Her condition is unknown.
The 25-year-old male driver of the SUV suffered minor injuries. He was taken to Shoalhaven Hospital for assessment and mandatory testing.
The crash caused both lanes of the Princes Highway to be closed for several hours, with both lanes reopening at about 6 pm yesterday.
An investigation has begun into the circumstances surrounding the crash, with police appealing to anyone who may have information or dashcam footage of the incident to come forward.
