The NSW Government will contribute $4.5 million towards a new learning hub at the Snowy Mountains Grammar School.

Deputy Premier and Member for Monaro John Barilaro and local Legislative Council Member Bronnie Taylor announced the funding during a visit to the school.

The two-storey building will house flexible learning spaces equipped with the latest technology, modern science laboratories, a digital technology and robotics room, an art room and display gallery, a state-of-the-art design and technology workshop, conference rooms, study spaces, student and staff amenities.

Snowy Mountains Grammar School Principal Dr Andrew Bell said the funding was one of the more important milestones for the school in its short 25-year existence, saying he was thankful to the NSW Government and Mr Barilaro for the support.

“I am elated for our whole school community who deserve a high-quality facility where our students and teachers will benefit from a beautiful yet practical and inspiring environment to enjoy now and well into the future,” Dr Bell said.

Mr Barilaro said the announcement is part of a significant investment by the NSW Government in education across the Snowy Mountains.

“It is exciting to see the plans for a new education campus at the Jindabyne Sport and Recreation Centre continue to progress,” Mr Barilaro said.

“The new Learning Hub is going to make a huge difference to the lives of students, teachers and staff, ensuring they have the resources they need to learn and thrive.”

The new Learning Hub is due to be completed by term 1, 2023.
