It was a last-minute switch that led to a Queanbeyan woman becoming Australia’s latest multi-millionaire.

The woman changed one number on her Lotto ticket, leading to the $60 million windfall.

The NSW woman held the only division one winning entry nationally in last night’s (28 May) Powerball draw 1567.

In addition to winning division one, the woman’s PowerHit entry also scored division two 19 times, which brought her total prize to $60,638,678.35.

When the size of her prize was revealed, the woman said she couldn’t believe the news.

“Oh my god! Holy crap!” she exclaimed.

“I’m just sitting here watching the women’s State of Origin! Oh goodness … I can’t believe this is real.

“It’s insane, absolutely insane! My mouth’s gone all dry – this is insane. You have no idea how much my head is spinning right now.

“I actually changed one of the numbers on the PowerHit. I did a fast select on the ticket, but then I thought I had too many numbers in the 30s. I had 33 and 34, so I took out 33 and made it 5. How insane is that?”

While her mind was swimming with possibilities for her $60 million prize, the woman did have some immediate goals.

Her first step will be paying off her mortgage.

“Up until 10 minutes ago, I had a mortgage. I’ll keep working for now … but it might not be full-time,” she said.

“I’m still young enough to enjoy this, share it with the family and make sure everyone’s comfortable for the rest of my life.

“It’s nuts!”

The winning numbers in Powerball draw 1567 on Thursday were 26, 30, 10, 34, 16, 5 and 12, while the all-important Powerball number was 11.

The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 375 so far this financial year, including 115 won by NSW Lotteries customers.
