A Queanbeyan man will front a Sydney court following a crash involving four parked vehicles.
At about 6:10 am on Wednesday (27 July) a blue Ford Falcon smashed into the vehicles parked on Duncan Street, Maroubra, in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.
Police said the front passenger wheel of the Falcon was ripped off, but it continued down the road “for some distance”.
A witness approached the car as a man got out and pulled a bicycle from its rear. It’s alleged the man then rode off while being chased by the witness, who called police.

When officers arrived they found the man had fallen off the bicycle and allegedly continued to run from police on foot. He was tackled to the ground by both the witness and police. During this time it’s alleged the man resisted arrest but was eventually restrained.
Police searched the man and his bag, where they found his active ACT licence, two grams of cannabis, 25 ml of GHB, another ACT licence not in the man’s name, two sets of scales and $3300 in cash.
His vehicle was also searched, where officers said they found multiple tools, knives, a sword, 14 vapes and 13 packets of unbranded tobacco. The Falcon had two different stolen number plates on the front and rear of the vehicle.
The 30-year-old man supplied a negative breath test, however he was taken to hospital for blood and urine tests. Those results were still outstanding.

He was charged with 14 offences consisting of negligent driving, four counts of not giving particulars to owners of damaged property, resisting officers in the execution of duty, two counts of possession of prohibited drugs, three counts of goods in personal custody suspected of being stolen (not motor vehicle), possession of housebreaking implements and custody of a knife in a public place.
He was currently on bail for drug supply and stolen property offences.
