The sound of sirens heading south was the first indicator of trouble and distress on this autumn Saturday.

South Coast Police District reports that emergency services are currently on scene of a serious two-vehicle crash north of Eden.

At about 3.15 pm today first responders were called to the Princes Highway, near Haycock Road, 5 km north of Eden, following reports two vehicles had collided.

Police officers have established a crime scene and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

The Princes Highway is closed in both directions north of Eden, however, traffic diversions are in place.

Southbound light vehicles are being diverted at Nethercote Road and northbound light vehicles are being diverted at Boyd Street. Heavy vehicles should delay travel and are currently being stopped before the crash site and are unable to use the diversion.
