Police are appealing for information after a white Subaru Impreza was reversed through the roller door of a Bungendore service station in a bungled ram raid.

About 4:45 am on Friday 15 October 2021, the thieves backed the car, bearing ACT number plates, into the retail section of the service station on Malbon Street, Bungendore.

After gaining entry, a man attempted to steal an ATM, before he was joined by two other people – believed to be a man and a woman.

The group were unsuccessful in their attempt and fled the scene in the Subaru with ACT registration plates – YOY 32W – and a white Lexus SUV with ACT registration plates – AYAC 84S.

Both vehicles are believed to have been stolen.

Officers attached to Monaro Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the incident.

A short time later, the Subaru was found on fire at a nearby showground.

As inquiries continue, police have released CCTV images of three people who may be able to assist with ongoing investigations.

One man depicted in the CCTV is described as wearing a black long sleeve shirt underneath a high-vis vest, dark-coloured pants, gloves, a hooded jacket and face covering.
