Police discover $23,000 cash and cocaine in a car near Wallendbeen

A man from Ingleburn in Sydney has been charged after police officers allegedly found cocaine and $23,000 cash during a vehicle stop just outside the NSW regional town of Wallendbeen.

At about 12:30 pm on Wednesday, 10 March, officers from the Riverina Police District stopped the driver of a white Toyota Hilux on Burley Griffin Way, near Wallendbeen, for a random breath test.

During a search of the vehicle, the officers allegedly found cocaine, $23,000 cash and e-cigarettes, which will now undergo forensic examination.

Following inquiries, a 47-year-old male was arrested and taken to Cootamundra Police Station.

He was charged with supplying a prohibited drug, dealing with proceeds of crime, and possessing a prescribed, restricted substance.

The Ingleburn man was granted strict conditional bail to appear in Cootamundra Local Court on Friday, 9 April, 2021.
