Two men have been charged after a police vehicle was allegedly rammed at Tathra earlier this week.

About 8pm on 18 August 2020, officers from South Coast Police District attempted to stop a Mitsubishi Pajero on Tathra Road, near White Rock at Tathra, when the vehicle stopped and then allegedly reversed into the marked police vehicle.

The Mitsubishi then drove away towards the township of Tathra.

Two senior constables suffered minor injuries in the incident and the police vehicle sustained extensive front-end damage.

Following inquiries, a 29-year-old man was arrested on Bega Street, Bega, about 7:40 am yesterday (19 August 2020).

Following further inquiries, a second man, aged 57, was arrested in Bega just after 2pm.
