Police are still searching for a man who allegedly shot another man and stole cash on the South Coast.

A NSW Police spokesperson said that at about 10:30 pm on Friday (20 March), emergency services were called to a hotel on Campbell Street in Narooma.

On arrival, officers attached to the South Coast Police District found a 31-year-old man with a gunshot wound.

He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Moruya Hospital in a stable condition.

Police say they were told an unknown man had entered the hotel, allegedly shot the 31-year-old and stole cash.

He then allegedly threatened patrons inside the premises before demanding more money and leaving.

The unknown man then approached a 17-year-old driver of a Toyota LandCruiser in a car park adjacent to the hotel.

He allegedly produced a firearm and demanded that the teenager get out of the vehicle, before driving away in the car.

A spokesperson told Region that as of 9 am on Monday (23 March), no arrests had been made and the investigation remained ongoing.

As inquiries are ongoing, anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
