A 36-year-old Bega man has been charged with murder following the death of a man at Eden.
Officers from South Coast Police District have launched a Critical Incident Investigation after being called to a home on Moorhead Street, Eden, at about 3.45 pm on Thursday (April 4), in response to a disturbance.
Upon arrival, police say they became aware of two men inside the home; one allegedly armed with a knife. As inquiries continued, officers entered the home and found a 49-year-old man suffering a fatal stab wound.
Despite the efforts of NSW Ambulance paramedics, the man died at the scene.
The situation is now the subject of an independent review, with the Critical Incident Investigation Team from Lake Illawarra now investigating the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
All information will be provided to the Coroner who will determine the cause of death and make any findings about the events leading to the man’s death.
The Bega man has been refused bail and will appear in Batemans Bay Local Court.
