A man accused of robbing a teenage restaurant worker at knifepoint on the Far South Coast is in custody after he was arrested and made no application for bail.
NSW Police allege 35-year-old Matthew John Scott went into a fast food restaurant on Carp Street, Bega, around 8 pm on Thursday night (9 March).
It is alleged he approached the front counter, threatened a 17-year-old employee with a knife then stole cash from the register before fleeing.
Police conducted inquiries and arrested Mr Scott at a nearby takeaway restaurant on the same street about an hour later.
It is alleged he was found with a knife as well as cash police believe had been stolen.
He was charged with one count of robbery while armed with an offensive weapon and two counts of shoplifting.
He appeared in Batemans Bay Local Court the next day, Friday, where he made no application for bail and it was formally refused. The matter was adjourned to 14 March.
The 17-year-old boy was not physically injured in the alleged incident.
