One of the Snowies’ most-loved hotels is up for sale, waiting for someone new to take the venue into its next chapter.
HTL Property and JLL Hotels & Hospitality Group have teamed up to manage the hotel’s sale, which has hit the market as a freehold going concern.
According to Destination Jindabyne, the Snow Goose Hotel was built in 1957 as the central hub for Snowy Hydro workers.
HTL Property investment sales agent Ben Kennedy said the venue had remained popular.
“This is a genuine freehold going concern opportunity, allowing an incoming operator to take the wheel of a well-established, high-turnover business from day one,” he said.
“Country hotels of this calibre — trading favourably, with no proximate competition and further upside expected from Snowy 2.0 — rarely present themselves, and we expect strong interest from both experienced hotel operators and those looking to make their first move into the sector.”
The Snow Goose brings in an impressive revenue mix, underpinned by high-turnover accommodation and bar trade.
According to the selling agents, its weekly revenues currently exceed $82,000 (excluding GST), with the venue also boasting a solid historical trade record.
The Snow Goose sits on a substantial 2447-square-metre landholding in the heart of Adaminaby and offers 21 letting rooms across 11 pub-style and 10 motel suites.

The hotel’s interior is a common sight for locals and Snowy Hydro workers alike.
The offering is underpinned by a strong gaming operation, with seven machine entitlements (of which four are permanent and three are leased) trading within a modern lounge in a Band 1 (Green Zone).
JLL Hotels & Hospitality Group senior vice-president Greg Jeloudev said the hotel’s sale was a rare opportunity.
“The Snow Goose Hotel represents a rare opportunity to acquire a well-established, freehold going-concern hospitality asset in a strategic Snowy Mountains location,” he said.
“The venue’s diverse revenue streams and consistent trading performance, combined with its proximity to a major infrastructure development in Snowy 2.0, position it as an attractive proposition for owner-operators looking to run a proven, high-turnover business from settlement.”
The Snow Goose is not the only southern NSW venue of its kind to hit the market in recent months.
Earlier this year, the South Coast saw both the Moruya Waterfront Hotel Motel and the Narooma Hotel change hands.
Closer to Adaminaby, what might be Australia’s highest hotel (the Sundeck at Perisher) was also put up for sale.
Cliff Wallis had owned the venue for more than 30 years, but it recently passed into the hands of hospitality investor Peter Dean.
Expressions of interest for the Snow Goose Hotel close on 16 September at 4 pm (if it is not sold prior). Interested parties can contact JLL Hotels & Hospitality Group or HTL Property.
