Filled with historically significant architecture, Goulburn will be alive with entertainment and tours to mark the Australian Heritage Festival from Saturday, 11 April, to Monday, 11 May.
Among the special events will be Echoes from Scotland: A Baroque Mystery at Riversdale this Saturday (11 April). From 10 am to 4 pm at the historic Riversdale Homestead, 2 Twynam Drive, Goulburn, a rare Scottish Baroque music manuscript from the 1700s will complement an enchanting recital and presentation by Shane Lestideau. Hear pieces played from the manuscript and be enthralled by the findings of Lestideau’s research into its origins. For more information, click here.
Also this Saturday, at the Rotary Markets in Montague Street, Goulburn Heritage Advisory Committee will have information on self-guided walks and museums that will be opened to the public.
Visit the Goulburn Historic Waterworks Museum on the banks of the picturesque Wollondilly River at Marsden Weir, Goulburn, on Sunday, 19 April, from 10 am to 3 pm to see the steam-driven pumping in action.
Also on 11 April, experience a rare view inside the 1928, Italian Renaissance-styled AMP Building at 191 Auburn Street. The opening is a prelude for 2027, when Goulburn will showcase many more significant buildings to reflect the city’s unique early European architecture.
