Meet our lovable Pets of the Week, looking for their forever homes at the Eurobodalla Animal Welfare League.
Dog of the Week: Hector
Senior dogs have plenty to teach us — so why not open your heart and home to one?
At 10 years young, Staffy-cross Hector has mastered the art of the household gentleman. He’s well-mannered, calm and affectionate, with a signature smile and kind, placid nature perfectly suited to family life.
Hector came into care only because his previous owner was unable to give him the loving retirement he so deserves.
This friendly boy loves connecting with people and happily coexists with most dogs. His carers say he’s a dream to walk, trotting along without pulling or rushing ahead. He’s just happy to get out and about in the sunshine with his person.
Whether it’s in a foster or forever home, Hector is ready for a comfy couch, the occasional treat, and a loving family to call his own as he transitions into the later stages of life.
Valentino has a touch of star quality about him, which is fitting, considering his Hollywood namesake.
Cat of the Week: Valentino
Five-year-old Hollywood heartthrob Valentino is still on the lookout for his forever home. Cuddly, playful and possessing a special charm, this big ginger-and-white boy entered foster care when his previous owners moved overseas.
While he might wish to appear aloof to adoring fans, Valentino is a real smoocher at heart who loves to rub against his family’s legs and cuddle up on the couch. His good looks and confident personality ensure he stands out from the crowd.
Valentino has lived with small dogs before, but isn’t a fan of other cats. His foster mum describes him as having the perfect mix of affection, independence and playfulness.
This handsome cat is in his prime and will make a charming companion. He has lived all his life indoors, so will need a safe, indoor-only home where he can be the centre of attention.
As with all AWL pets, Hector and Valentino come desexed, microchipped and vaccinated. Call Eurobodalla AWL on 0410 016 612 to arrange a meeting.
Some good news! Previously advertised kitten Monty has been adopted. His beautiful mum Callie is still available.
