A crime scene has been established in the NSW South West Slopes town of Young after a body was discovered on Sunday morning (25 April).

According to police, emergency services were called to Stoneridge Street just before 7:20 am after they were notified the man’s body had been located on a bench.

Officers from the Hume Police District established the crime scene, which is being examined by specialist forensic police.

The deceased person is yet to be formally identified, but he is believed to be aged in his sixties.

Initial inquiries suggest the man’s death is not suspicious, and a report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
