UPDATED 5:20 pm: Weeks of recent rain are behind us, giving way to perfect autumn days just in time for the Easter long weekend.

No matter where you are in the region – be it Goulburn on the Southern Tablelands, Cooma in the Snowy Mountains, Bega on the South Coast or Canberra itself – expect crisp nights and cool autumn days, perfect for whatever Easter activity you have in mind.

While there will be some fog in the mornings, we’ll experience mostly sunny days until Easter Monday (18 April).

“The weather will be much more settled, with some cloud about due to some south/south-easterly winds,” Bureau of Meteorology engagement officer Morgan Pumpa said.

“Keep in mind, though, a cold front may bring some light showers on Monday.”

All regions will see nights dipping into the single digits, so if you’re out camping, make sure you pack a few extra layers.

“This is due to those clouds clearing during the day; less cloud keeps the night temperatures a bit cooler,” Ms Pumpa said.

No warnings are expected along the south coast.
