Sunday Lemonade was on tour in Europe when their debut EP topped the ARIA Australian Country Albums Chart. They woke to a barrage of congratulatory messages and missed calls. The Brogo couple could not believe it.

The EP, ”The Forest to the Sea”, also took sixth spot on ARIA’s Country Albums Chart, seventh place in the Australian Albums Chart and 43rd in the Top 50 Albums Chart. They are performing at Murrah Hall on 13 September to celebrate.

Loz sings and plays the guitar, while Tyson does vocals, guitar and percussion.

“We tend to write songs individually and bring them together to make a bit of Sunday Lemonade,” Loz said.

The indie/folk duo started performing together in 2019. Their first award was Emerging Artist at Nannup Music Festival 2020.

“That was when we started to take it a bit more seriously and thought we might be able to make a career of it,” Tyson said.

They have been on the road since 2019 and are on their third campervan. They only get back to their tiny home in Brogo every three or four months.

“Someone told us that artists always have to sacrifice something to make the lifestyle work, so we have sacrificed a permanent home to keep ourselves on the road and doing this full time,” Loz said. “Neither of us have had another job in seven and a half years.”

Sunday Lemonade have been on the road in a campervan for seven and a half years.

Over that time, they have supported acts including The Rubens, Boy and Bear, Sons of the East, Steph Strings and 19 Twenty. They cemented their local following at Four Winds last year when they supported Caravana Sun. They have performed at several festivals, including Wanderer, Queenscliff, Blues at Bridgetown and Music in the Park with Tones and I, have sold out headline shows in NSW, Victoria and Western Australia, and were named People’s Choice at Tamworth in 2024.

Sunday Lemonade had been trying to tour Europe for three years without any luck.

It took hundreds of emails and lots of research about artists, and they crossed their fingers that the venues would have the right vibe for their infectious music.

“It is a case of throwing bubbles out and seeing which ones land in someone’s hands,” Loz said.

This time, things fell into place. Over four weeks, they performed in 10 shows, including at two festivals.

“It was a really good reception,” Tyson said. “People seemed to really like us, especially the Netherlands and Germany. We will definitely head back there.”

Sunday Lemonade released their debut EP on 14 August.

”The Forest to the Sea” features five singles recorded with Syd Green at Jervis Bay Recording Studio, plus two interlude-style tracks they self-recorded in their Brogo home.

Sunday Lemonade’s sounds and lyrics are inspired by the wide, open spaces of life on the road in Australia, a longing for adventure and self-reflection. The EP captures their signature warmth, optimism and authenticity.

Some of the songs were written six years ago and have become firm crowd favourites in the duo’s energetic live shows.

Sunday Lemonade are delighted to be returning to the Murrah Hall after playing there last September. They love the space and the hall’s committee members, who take such care of artists.

“We feel part of the South Coast culture and history being in that hall,” Loz said. “I just want people to come to the show to celebrate with us. This is our way of giving back. They always give us a gentle hug when we come home.”

Is it hard being on the road together in a campervan for so long?

“It is harder being apart,” Tyson said.

Loz added: “If there is ever a rough week, the moment we hit the first note, all the worries disappear.”
